The Religious Order of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales (MSFS) was founded in France in 1838. The MSFS missionaries are at the service of the Universal Church, working today in more than 25 countries through its charism of preaching missions, evangelization, education and formation of the youth. The MSFS priests (known as Fransalians) began with a mission of renewal and development of faith communities in parishes through retreats, spiritual direction, and other sacramental help.
Fr. Joshy Mathew (MSFS), the celebrant at Holy Redeemer this weekend, is a Ph.D. student in Educational Leadership and Administration at the University of St. Thomas. He is assigned to be pastor of St. Patrick’s parish at Hallock, in the diocese of Crookston, MN.
This mission appeal is for helping the education of the poor children (school dropouts, street children, and children from financially backward families), which is an excellent initiative of our Province’s Social Agency, namely FaSCE India. Hundreds of students from these backgrounds are reaping the fruit of this initiative. May God bless our endeavor to care for these vulnerable students. A help in this regard would be highly appreciated in the Church’s commitment to remain faithful to the Gospel to care for the needy around the world.
Please find more details about the mission appeal from the video given in the parish website.
